Hooray for my first real post! Today, to kick things off, I am going to give a “pet profile” of one of the great cats in the shelter, a male domestic shorthair named Gato. Gato has been at the shelter since February 21, 2oo9, and is really excited to get a new home! I decided to feature Gato first because he seemed a little different than the other cats in Room One – he didn’t rub his body against the cage door or mew for me to come visit him; rather he sat regally and calmly on his towel, waiting for me to notice him. When I finally worked my way over to his cubicle, I immediately noticed his unique, expressive sea-green eyes. Really, they look just like the picture! Usually, black cats have amber or amber-green eyes which are certainly beautiful, but nothing compared to what this guy is sporting. In addition to his look, Gato’s personality is a real winner. For someone looking for a calm and independent yet affectionate cat, Gato would be perfect. Head down to SLO Animal Services to visit him today!
